Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care will cost. This estimate will be provided before services begin or upon request.
6. Confidentiality
Confidentiality is a cornerstone of effective therapy. What you share in session is protected by law and professional ethics, with specific exceptions:
Limits to Confidentiality
By law, I am required to break confidentiality in the following situations:
- Danger to self: If you are at imminent risk of harming yourself
- Danger to others: If you pose a serious threat to an identifiable person
- Abuse or neglect: Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult
- Court order: When legally compelled by a valid court order
Minor Clients
For clients under 18, parents/guardians have certain rights to information about their child's treatment. However, effective therapy with adolescents often requires some degree of privacy. The specific boundaries around confidentiality will be discussed and agreed upon with both the teen and parents at the start of treatment.
For more information, please review our Privacy Policy.
7. Informed Consent
Before beginning treatment, you (or your parent/guardian for minors) will be asked to sign an Informed Consent form that includes:
- Description of services and treatment approach
- Risks and benefits of therapy
- Confidentiality policies and limits
- Fee schedule and payment policies
- Cancellation policy
- Emergency procedures
- Your rights as a client
You have the right to ask questions about any aspect of treatment at any time.

- Telehealth uses HIPAA-compliant video platforms with encryption
- You are responsible for being in a private, safe location during sessions

9. Professional Boundaries
To maintain the integrity of the therapeutic relationship:
- Our relationship is professional, not personal or social
- I do not accept friend or connection requests on social media
- I do not provide therapy to individuals with whom I have a personal relationship
- Contact between sessions is limited to scheduling and brief clinical matters
- I may not acknowledge you in public to protect your privacy (unless you initiate)
10. Communication
Between Sessions
Brief communications regarding scheduling may be sent via phone, text, or email. Please be aware that electronic communications may not be fully secure. For clinical matters, please discuss during sessions or schedule an appointment.
Response Time
I strive to return calls and messages within 1-2 business days. For urgent clinical matters, please call and leave a voicemail indicating the urgency. For emergencies, contact 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
11. Termination of Services
Client-Initiated
You have the right to end therapy at any time. We encourage discussing your decision so we can address concerns, provide appropriate closure, and offer referrals if needed.
